About Anonymous Hours and Plus-one Hours
Anonymous and Plus-one hours are optional features that can be turned on or off by site managers. If your site manager has not allowed these features, you will not see them as a capability on your site.
Anonymous hours are a tool that agency managers can use to submit hours on behalf of volunteers who do not have a Connect account.
Plus-one hours are a tool for volunteers to use when they have a Connect account, but they are joined in a volunteer effort by people who do not have an account. For example, the volunteer registered for a need and then brought along family or friends to help out. Because your agency will still want to record those hours, the Plus-one hours are attached to the registered volunteer. As an agency manager you can enter plus-one hours on behalf of a registered volunteer.
Note: Plus-one hours are different from team registration, where an individual responds to a volunteer opportunity with a group of other people who have Connect accounts.
How an Agency Manager Enters Anonymous and Plus-one Hours
To enter Anonymous or Plus-one hours, begin by going to your agency management area and clicking Time Tracking. Next, scroll to the bottom of the page, where you'll find a section for adding an hour entry.
Adding Anonymous Hours
After selecting a need, you can choose Anonymous User from the Volunteer dropdown. Note that you will only see this option if your site allows anonymous hours.
Complete the details for those hours, including the date, hours, and other fields as applicable. You can use the description box to add further details about the anonymous hours.
When you're done, click the Submit Hour Entry button at the bottom of the screen.
Adding Plus-one Hours
After selecting a need, scroll down below the hours details to Plus-one Hours area.
Note: Typically, Plus-one hours would be attached to a specific registered user (rather than an anonymous user).
If you select Yes, additional fields appear, including the number of additional volunteers and their relationship to the registered volunteer.
When you have completed all required fields, click the Submit Hour Entry button.
How a Volunteer Logs Plus-one Hours
A volunteer can enter Plus-one hours at the check-in kiosk or by logging in to their profile and using either the Track Hours feature or the self check-in. To learn about the volunteer perspective, see the article Plus-one Hours for Volunteers.
Approving or Declining Plus-one Hours
If an agency manager enters Anonymous or Plus-one hours, they do not need to be approved. If a volunteer enters plus-one hours, those hours follow the same approval rules that regular hours follow. For example, if all regular hours are set to be pending until approved, all Plus-one hours will follow that rule.
To approve or decline Plus-one hours:
From your agency manager view, go to Time Tracking to view hours that are pending approval. You will see Plus-one hours above the name of the registered volunteer who added those hours. If you hover over the icon beside the Plus-one hours, the text identifies these hours as related to the registered volunteer.
In the StatusĀ column, select ApproveĀ (or Decline).
You can now view the approved hours in the Stats section of your agency management area.
