The Data Explorer
With Get Connected's Data Explorer, you can use a filtering tool to develop views that display only the information you need.
To access the Data Explorer, go to the Reports area of the manager panel and see the Data Explorers heading.
Report Types
With the Data Explorer, you can dig into your data from 9 different starting points.
Agency
This explorer focuses primarily on agency data and can include the following types of information:
- Agency profile data, including who we are/what we do, causes, and contact information
- Record information, such as status (active, inactive, pending, etc.) and date update
- Clusters and tags
- Event data, including RSVPs
- Need data, including hours submitted
Event
This explorer focuses primarily on event data and can include the following types of information:
- Event details, including start and end times, location, title, description and posting agency
- Record information, such as status and ID
- Whether RSVP and donations have been enabled
Need
This explorer focuses primarily on need data and can include the following types of information:
- General need data, such as title, description, date, location, capacity, age requirements, and posting agency
- The initiative (if applicable) associated with the need
- Need account data including status, date added, date updated, and need ID
- Comments and tags
- Number of need responses
User
This explorer focuses primarily on user data and can include the following types of information:
- User profile data (name, email, address, birthday, gender, phone, etc.)
Note: Data can be pulled only if it has been imported or manually submitted by a user or admin.
- User activity data, including date added, date updated, interests, need responses, and fanned agencies
- Comments and tags
Response
This explorer focuses primarily on need-response data and can include the following types of information:
- Relevant ID numbers (user ID, response ID, agency ID, site ID)
- User name and email
- Need title
- Name of the posting agency
- Response date; also includes date updated, if applicable
Fan
This explorer focuses focus primarily on agency-fan data and can include the following types of information:
- Fan information (ID, name, email, status)
- Agency information (ID and name)
- Fan and site IDs
- Date user became a fan of the agency
RSVP
This explorer focuses focus primarily on event-RSVP data and can include the following types of information:
- Basic event information (event ID, title, start and end times, status, posting agency)
- Basic information on user who RSVP'd (name, email, user ID)
- Date of RSVP
Hours
This explorer focuses focus primarily on volunteer-hour data and can include the following types of information:
- Name, email, and ID of the volunteer who responded to the need
- Title and ID of the need
- Name and ID of the posting agency
- Information entered on the need response form, including number of hours, miles traveled, description, and answers to any custom questions
- Date the hours were submitted
- Status (approved, declined, or pending)
Donation
This explorer, which will be useful only for those sites that use Get Connected's Donations functionality, focuses primarily on donation data and can include the following types of information:
- Donor information (name, address, email, user ID)
- Donation information (amount, date made, status, last four numbers of credit card)
- Domain (site) information
Building a Custom View with the Data Explorer
To build a custom view:
- Access the reports area by clicking Reports in your manager panel utility bar.
- Under the Data Explorer heading, click on the type of view you wish to create.
- Check or clear the boxes corresponding to the data you wish to include or omit, respectively. The report in the table below adjusts to meet the criteria you've specified.
Note: An export of the report will include all available fields. For example, if you selected to omit user ID from the report, the user ID will not show up on your screen but it will show up in the export.
