Add a field in the daily schedule

Hi Sara! I think this is a great idea!
May I ask, which daily schedule are you utilizing? Is this the calendar view in Volunteerism > Scheduling, or are you referring to the Today's Shifts report in the main reports page?
Also, what criteria do you use as a "last volunteer date"? In the system, this could be the date of their last response, the date their last need began, the last date they submitted hours, etc. What specific piece of data would be most helpful to you in this use case, to determine a return volunteer versus a new volunteer? Would something like the total number of responses be able to indicate this for you? (With new volunteers having a total of 0 responses.)

Thank you so much for the response! I appreciate it. I didn't know I could view today's shift (where is that?). I typically go to schedule, user response, then I click on the date I need. I typically print the PDF and use that as I am checking in volunteers. That is ideally where I would see the last date they submitted hours. I don't even need to know how many hours. Just when the last hours were logged. This would at a quick glance help me know if they are new, returning, returning after a while, etc.
So I think the last date they submitted hours (or I recorded their hours) would be so helpful.

The Today’s Shifts report I mentioned can be found in the manager panel by clicking Reports on the ribbon at the top of the screen, then going to the Needs/Opportunities section. The report is also in your Favorites section!
In regards to your main point–I can absolutely see the use case for this! Adding a section or column on the Scheduling calendar and/or the Today’s Shifts report which details the date of the last shift/need a volunteer has responded to would be very insightful.

I think it would be beneficial to add a column to the daily schedule report "last volunteer date". This way at a quick glance I can easily see who my return volunteers are and who is new.
