Site-wide RSS Feed

Hello,


While I am sure ChatGPT is inspiring improvements at Galaxy, lots of municipalities are working on training our own chat bots.


The agency managers have the ability to link an RSS feed from the galaxy site, and doing so for the entire site would make it very easy for us to integrate the systems and ensure that all the information provided is perpetually up to date.

Just to make sure I have everything I need to make notes about this on my end, I have a clarifying question! When you say you'd like this "for the entire site", do you mean that you'd like the ability to add an RSS feed from your main organization's site to your homepage?

Yes, and I think you're asking the right question here (though my intended purpose for it is beyond just linking our site updates to our city website).


The goal would be to have all of the information about the organizations posting on the website (our city departments and community partners) to be sent with the important information for volunteer opportunities that are posted. I don't know if additional information can be provided beyond the opportunities, but we would like that feed information to contain information about organization posting, date, time, location. Bonus points if that information can contain other things like org point of contact, links, etc.


We'll post it on our city website for increased visibility, but we are also building a ChatGPT customer service bot to answer common questions about the website or opportunities posted there to help direct members of the public to the opportunities most relevant to them based on the information they provide. This will give us a good reason to meaningfully dig into the tags, causes, and other things if that info can be included in the RSS feed, but it is not required.

Thank you for that information! I'll go ahead and make a new note in regards to this request, and add in those details for the team to consider. This would definitely be a larger lift on the developmental side of things, but I can see how this would streamline a lot when it comes to volunteer questions and such directed to site or agency managers.
