Assign a domain to a team

We would like the ability to assign a domain to teams. This is a helpful feature with user groups, and would help with team sign ups as well. We often have teams who reserve slots and volunteers who sign up for the shift outside the team link.  It would be great to have these all lumped together so we are not saving a reserved slot when the user is already signed up individually.

Hi Liz,

Thank you for writing in! I want to be sure we're on the same page--when you say you would like to add a domain to your teams, you're referring to the "@email.com" section of the user's email address, correct? This way anyone who joins the site through a certain email domain will then be added to a specific team, per that team's settings.

Please confirm if I'm on the right track with this, and I can go ahead and make a note of this!

Hi Heather,

That is correct, or at least have a way to move individual sign ups into the teams reserved spots. Teams reserve slots and often a few members sign up for the same shift outside the team link and we are unable to assign them to the team without unregistering them first. If we could assign an email domain and have the individual user automatically be put into one of the teams reserved slots on the specific shift, that would be even better. Please let me know if you would like to set up a call and I can explain further.

Hi Liz,

No problem--I understand now! I can see how unregistering them first just to add them back onto the team would be tedious.

I'll mark down your enhancement request as follows:

"Allow a designation of email domain on team settings (same functionality as user group domains) so that users with the domain are automatically added to the related team."

We will mark this for discussion in a future meeting--thank you for the suggestion!
