Thanks for adding this to our forum! There definitely has been a similar request for this in the past, so I will be adding your thoughts to our existing notes.
The software was made for users to be able to submit hours on their own in a number of places, in order to minimize work for Site Managers in regards to adding those hours manually on user's behalf, but I can see how this would be helpful for specific use cases such as this one.

We would like to turn off the feature that allows volunteers to self log hours. This makes things complicated on the back end. As well, we have had some users abusing the system and logging hours that they did not work. Is there a way to turn this feature off?
We have it set to go to pending, but would like it to not be an option at all.
Please advise.
